1. McCain Names Sarah Palin VP Nominee
This morning presumptive Republican Presidential nominee John McCain announced his selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate. The decision to put the young (Palin is 44 years old), relatively unknown female on the ticket came as a surprise, and will have many doing their homework to learn more about her track record. Catch up on some key issues in the Frontier State.

4. “CBS Sunday Morning” Goes Green
I’m a big fan of the classic CBS news/pop-culture program “Sunday Morning.” This week I was poking around their website in search of a particular clip and found some great “green” features. “The Greening of Hollywood” is a photo essay that profiles celebrities who are standing up for the environment. “Fast Draw: Hybrid Cars” is an entertaining cartoon that outlines some of the pros and cons of the half-gas half-electric engine vehicles.
5. MONU Magazine on Urbanism
MONU magazine is (from their website) “ a unique bi-annual international forum for artists, writers and designers that are working on topics of urban culture, development and politics. Each issue collects essays, projects and photographs from contributors from all over the world to a given topic.” A link to the latest edition of MONU, titled “exotic urbanism” landed in my mailbox this week and I thought I’d pass it along.
