In further evidence of global warming, scientists said today that the Earth may be nearing its warmest point in one million years. The planet is within 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit (1 degree Celsius) of its highest temperature, and the rise is attributed to human causes. (Read a news article.)

Yes, it has affected me. Politicians have continually stopped and regulated drilling and mining driving costs up and letting countries like Cuba take advantage of our regressive opinions in this matter.
As far as temperature goes, there is frost all over here and it is still October.
Which scientists are you quoting? There seems to be an equal number that are not blaming humans. Would National Geographic and the quoted scientists have us go back to the dark ages?
Seems to me that the Earth has been warming every since the ice ages, but maybe man caused that too.
While the climate is warming up a little – again, the political climate seems to warm even faster. Only a few years ago, National Geographic Magazine had already pinpointed the three major contributors of greenhouse gases – and none of them are of human origin. The worst one is wetlands! Second and third are bovine flatulence and termite mounds.
Are humans affecting this too? Certainly, to some extent. We’re not draining swamps rapidly enough.
